How to refresh LinkedScope MCP tools in your AI assistant

When LinkedScope adds new MCP tools, or changes existing ones, some assistants keep using the list they saved on the first connection. Here is how to reload that list in the main apps.

  • When to do it: after an MCP update, or when the assistant says it lacks a tool you know exists
  • How long it takes: less than a minute in most apps
  • What stays the same: your access, permission level and the confirmation before each action

How do I know the list is outdated?

Ask the assistant: “Which LinkedScope tools do you have available?”. If something listed in the MCP guide is missing, or it shows per-platform tools that are now unified, reload the list.

How do I refresh it in each assistant?

ChatGPT

  1. In ChatGPT on the web, open Plugins and select LinkedScope
  2. Click Refresh and check that the tool list changed
  3. Start a new conversation to use the updated list

In Business, Enterprise or Edu workspaces, only a workspace admin can refresh the list, from the workspace app settings. If you are not an admin, ask whoever manages ChatGPT at your company.

Claude (web, desktop and mobile)

  1. Open Settings > Connectors
  2. On LinkedScope, disconnect and connect again, signing in with your LinkedScope login
  3. Start a new conversation; in the desktop app, quit and reopen it if the new tools still do not show up

Conversations opened before the refresh keep the old list.

Claude Code

End the session and start a new one. If the tools still do not show up, run /mcp, select linkedscope and reconnect.

Codex

Close the current session and open a new one. To check the server, run codex mcp list in your terminal.

Cursor

In Cursor Settings, open the MCP section, turn the linkedscope server off and on again, then start a new chat.

Microsoft Copilot Studio

Copilot Studio reads the server tools in every conversation, so new tools usually appear on their own.

If they do not, open the agent, go to Tools, edit the LinkedScope MCP server and save to reload the list.

GitHub Copilot in VS Code

  1. Open the command palette and run MCP: List Servers
  2. Select linkedscope and choose Restart
  3. In chat, in Agent mode, open Configure Tools and check that the new tools are selected

Gemini

In Gemini Enterprise, open the custom MCP connector in the app settings, make sure it is enabled and reload the connector actions. If asked, authorize again with your LinkedScope login.

In Gemini CLI, run /mcp refresh and then /mcp to see the list.

Perplexity

In Plugins, remove the LinkedScope connector and add it again with the URL https://mcp.linkedscope.com. Then start a new search.

Other clients

In most apps, restarting the session or reconnecting the server reloads the list. With a personal access token, you do not need a new token: just restart the automation or the client.

What if the tool still does not appear?

  • Check that the account and plan include the tool: write actions require Owner, Admin or Manager and the matching scope
  • Make sure the platform integration (LinkedIn Ads, Google Ads or Meta Ads) is connected in LinkedScope
  • Remove LinkedScope from the assistant and add it again following the connection guide

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to refresh every time LinkedScope changes?

Only when the assistant does not show a new tool. Previous names remain accepted for compatibility, so nothing stops working before you refresh.

Does refreshing the list change my permissions?

No. The access level chosen at sign-in, the account permissions and the confirmation before each action stay the same.
