With the Optimize campaign bids automation, LinkedScope reviews the bids of your active LinkedIn campaigns every week and adjusts them when there is room to pay less without losing delivery. Every change is tested and undone if results get worse.

What the optimization does
Each week, LinkedScope analyzes the last 7 days of every active campaign (daily budget, delivery pace, real cost and LinkedIn’s suggested pricing) and chooses one of these actions:
| Action | When it happens |
|---|---|
| Switch from automatic or adjusted to manual bidding | When the campaign delivers well on automatic and there is enough cost history to set a safe manual bid that fits the daily budget. The starting bid is the recent real cost plus a 5% buffer. |
| Test a 5% reduction | On campaigns LinkedScope already manages, when delivery and cost are stable. Only one test at a time. |
| Keep or undo the test | The following week: if delivery, results and cost held up, the reduction stays. If they got worse, the previous bid comes back and new tests are blocked for 28 days. |
| Raise the bid | When the manual campaign is delivering below its budget. |
| Go back to automatic | When LinkedIn’s minimum bid becomes higher than the daily budget, or when delivery drops consistently after the switch to manual. |
| Leave it alone | When there isn’t enough data or the situation is ambiguous. |
Safeguards
- Campaigns with a cost limit (target cost or cost cap) are not changed.
- If you changed a campaign’s daily budget, it goes 7 days without adjustments so effects don’t get mixed.
- If the account was paused by the monthly budget limit during the analyzed period, the week is skipped.
- Campaigns you set to manual yourself are never enrolled in reduction tests.
- Text ads are only observed, never changed.
Where to see the changes
Adjustments show up in LinkedIn Campaign Manager, in each campaign’s bid and strategy. The analysis considers the campaign objective: leads and conversions for Lead Generation and Website Conversions, views for Video, impressions for Brand Awareness.
How to turn it on

Frequently asked questions
Why did my campaign switch from automatic to manual?
Because it met every safety condition: healthy delivery, a known real cost and a manual bid that fits the daily budget. If delivery gets worse, it goes back to automatic.
How long until I see results?
Each test needs a full week of data to be evaluated. Savings show up gradually, in 5% steps.
Can I adjust the bid manually with the automation on?
Yes. If the bid changes outside LinkedScope, the ongoing test is put on hold until there is a clean week of data.
What if I switch the automation off?
Bids stay as they are, and LinkedScope stops changing them. See the other automations in Account automations: what each one does.
