Intent Index: how it is calculated

Sumário
Sumário

The Intent Index is the 0-100 score LinkedScope gives each company reached on LinkedIn. The higher it is, the more likely the company is ready for a sales approach.

  • Where it shows: Reached Companies, Dashboard Top Companies, Pipeline Impact, Spark Prospects and the Executive Report

What goes into the calculation

The formula gives increasing weight to increasingly strong signals of interest:

SignalWeight
ImpressionsLow: counted on a logarithmic scale, so lots of impressions alone don’t raise the score.
Engagement rateMedium, capped.
Average dwell time on adsMedium, capped.
External clicks (to your website)High: 5 points per click.
Website conversionsHigh: 6 points per conversion.
The company’s leadsThe highest: 20 points per lead.

The total is converted to a 0-100 scale. A company with no interaction at all (engagement, click, conversion or lead) scores 0, however many impressions it has.

Leads from every channel
For companies, LinkedScope uses the leads associated with the company across every channel (website, LinkedIn, Google and Meta), not just LinkedIn leads. A company that converted on your website moves up the ranking even without filling in a LinkedIn form.

Frequently asked questions

Does the index change with the selected period?

Yes. It is calculated with the metrics and leads of the screen’s period, so the same company can score differently over 30 and 90 days.

A company with lots of impressions is Cold. Why?

Impressions carry little weight. Without engagement, clicks or leads, intent stays low.

Where do I see the companies with the highest index?

In Reached Companies: how it works, sorting by the Intent Index column.
